The price difference between the X2 and X4 is also becoming smaller, confusing many BMW fans and shoppers as to which SUV fits their needs and lifestyles.
Production Timeline
While BMW hasn’t specified an exact end date for the X4, it is expected that production will cease around 2025. The revamped X3 is set to start deliveries in late 2024, indicating that the X4 won’t be around much longer. The X4’s production will likely continue for a short period alongside the new X3, but it won’t extend beyond 2025.

Will the X2 be smaller then the X4 once phase out? Why not keep the X4, reduce pricing and keep a line that most customers would buy?

I don’t think the new X2 will replace the “nich” of the former X4. First, because there is the Mercedes Benz GLC coupé and it’s a BIG difference betwen the X2… it’s insane think like that. Second, instead of discontinue the X4, why not to update it to a great substitute. It’s not reasonable.

True story here … I am an X4 owner , this is a joke i have seen the new X2 and apart from the seats I do not rate the X2 vehicle. the reviews show that it is a back of rubbish compared to the X4. headroom in the vehicle is crap for anyone taller than 5ft 11 inches, leg room is poor, the X2 vehicle is smaller, also seen on many reviews unless moving in a straight line the handling is poor. I will just purchase a similar car from Mercedes or Audi as i wont be paying £93.000 for an X6 as its not needed for my lifestyle. So i’m leaving BMW at the end of the year for the competition.
I’m glad I purchased my 2025 X4M Competition. Jumped on the last wagon, without knowing it would be phased out this year.
Well, I just buy one X4 M, January 2025, looks like some of the plans may change afther the tariffs from Mr. Trumpetas, and his new cero global warming clima contingency policy, naturally, and being the market of china electrical car industry, USA may not be looking to green energy at all, but tradicional petrol cars.

I have no idea why BMW wouldn’t bring back the gasoline version of the X4. Not everyone wants electric vehicles, if its true the X4 will be coming back in 2027 as electric. The X2 is no comparison to the X4. Give the X4 an upgrade, which it is long overdue for and keep the vehicle in the line. Get rid of the X2

I own a 2019 x4 and LOVE it. Just yesterday I test drove an X2 and it really does NOT compare. It’s like driving an X1 just looks a little different. I’m seriously thinking of buying the latest X4 and wait till they change their mind. If they don’t, I’ll cross that bridge then…

I am planning to upgrade my X4 to a 2024 or 2025 model but if they are not going to be manufactured anymore, Iooks like I will be seeking out another car brand either Porsche or Lexus?
In my opinion, the X2 just doesn’t do it for me. The X4 is by far better than the X2. I love the design, the drive and the price point of the X4. The X2 looks like a modern station wagon. The drive is horrible and for a new model it runs around 40K. I had the X2 for a loaner vehicle and I couldn’t wait to get my car back. I am planning to upgrade my X4 to a 2024 or 2025 model but if they are not going to be manufactured anymore, Iooks like I will be seeking out another car brand either Porsche or Lexus?
This just clutters the BMW SUV/Crossover market. It just confuses the consumer and with so many models increases production costs and eventual MSRP’s. Will make it more difficult for customers to buy what they want as dealers down here in So Florida do not allow consumers to order anymore. Dealers have to find cars!!
